Skype is a free internet communications tool which allows individuals to phone or text others anywhere in the world at little or no cost. All that is required to begin 'skyping' is a headset with a microphone and a computer with internet access and hours of free international calls and texts will be yours.
Software to enable Skype is freely available from www.skype.com/. Simply follow the simple registration information and enter the world of free international communication. Skype can also be used for conference calls and texts sessions which makes it a perfect tool for keeping in touch and collaborating on projects such as EU[eComp]Int.
Once you have successfully registered with skype, and have a headset with a microphone attachment, you will simply need to find someone with which to skype! Skype has built in spam aversion technology, so you must be accepted into a persons address book before you can contact them. Likewise, you must accept others into your address book before then can contact you. This avoids recieving calls and texts from people who you don't know.
The easiest way to find people on skype is to use the search option in the 'tools' menu. Below are the skype ID's for some of the people involved in the eCompetence project. If you would like your name included simply email Christina Legg
