Dear Colleagues,
I am delighted to invite you to the Galway
Symposium in April and
I hope that you will be able to sample Ireland’s fine tradition
of hospitality, culture and scenery. Galway is a small but vibrant
city and the ideal venue for such a meeting.
The agenda we have
set allows scope for information exchange and discussion (which
we hope will be lively and productive!) and gives us the opportunity
to focus, in some detail, on real examples of initiatives in
the area of eCompetence. Case studies and best practice models
form
the basis for the presentations and papers, and through this
format our basic goal of knowledge sharing will be achieved.
Contributions
from across the partnership have been submitted and their richness
and variety will help to broaden our own individual and institutional
horizons, providing inspiration as well as vital details of
lessons learned. The symposium offers the first chance to disseminate
such materials and will be something that we hope to build
on through the development of a series of case studies and project
profiles.
I’d also like you to consider the possibility of bringing
poster versions of your papers to the event as well as sharing
them through oral presentations. In the venue we have selected,
there will be plenty of scope for hosting display materials and
using these to provide a visual overview of the scope of our work.
I look forward to welcoming you to our Celtic island.
Best wishes
Iain
