The Fourth Symposium of the European eCompetence Initiative, which has taken place within the AHD Conference 2006: "The changing Teaching and Learning Culture in Higher Education" in March 2006 at the University of Dortmund. The conference participants have discussed different aspects of eCompetence in five panels together with a number of invited experts and our project partners. The topics have included individual and organisational eCompetence development, the presentation of two case studies, a discussion forum, moderated in a brilliant way by Gilly Salmon with the title: "eLearning after the hype: what has been achieved and where are we going?" and a session on concepts and conclusions, which we can draw on the outcomes of the project research so far.
We have documented all given presentations in our website section project news and events: http://www.ecompetence.info/index.php?id=115.
Here you can find in addition a summary document on all panels, which is a synthesis of the given presentations and the main strings of discussions. This summary has been drafted by Sandra Hubbard, and I like to thank her a lot for her work. Download the summary here: ecompetence_panels.pdf
